The table below indicates the invasive species that we are asking the public to help us look out for, locate, and inventory; some of these have not yet been found in our counties, but are known to exist geographically nearby. Some species are of local concern due to certain fragile ecosystems.
The DNR has a list of species that is prohibited or restricted in the state of Michigan. If a species is prohibited or restricted, it is unlawful to possess, introduce, import, sell or offer that species for sale as a live organism, except under certain circumstances. See the list here.
